Typed 500 - 750 word double-spaced 12-font essay answering the following questions:

The applicant must submit a resume and letter of interest.

Resume must list all scholastic and academic honors (Scholarships, prizes, awards, etc.), your employment experience(s), and extracurricular/community activities.

A letter of interest: introduce yourself, family, your interest/special talents, school community/religious activities, and college/future plans.

Scholarship money may be applied only towards legitimate school expenses, such as tuition, room, board, books and miscellaneous expenses. Award will be transferred to the College/University financial aid office on behalf of the recipient.
The Scholarship Committee will determine recipients of the Chesapeake-Virginia Beach Achievement Foundation Scholarship. This decision will be based upon meeting all application qualifications which includes the essay and resume/letter of interest.

Purpose
The Primus Enterprises Leadership Scholarship recognizes outstanding high school seniors in the York Town, VA, area and those external to Hampton Roads, Virginia, who participate as virtual participants in the Chesapeake, Virginia Beach (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Beautillion Militaire Leadership Scholarship program for the school year of September 2025 - June 2026. The student must exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and service to their community. This $500 award is designed to encourage young leaders who demonstrate integrity, initiative, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
Scholarship Award
- Amount: $500 (one-time award)
- Number of Awards: One annually
- Use of Funds: May be applied toward tuition, books, or educational expenses at any accredited two- or four-year college, university, or technical/trade school.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a high school senior graduating in the current academic year.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Must participate in six of the eight virtual workshops
- Must participate in at least one community service project in their local community in the period from November 1, 2025, to February 1, 2026.
- Must participate in the Beautillion scholarship Fundraising Campaign and raise a minimum of $1000.00
- The student must attend a Church or Worship service at least once during the period from November 1, 2025, to February 1, 2026.
- Demonstrate leadership in school, extracurricular activities, or the community.
- Exhibit good character and service through volunteerism or mentorship.
- Plan to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution (college, university, or trade/technical school).
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following:
- Completed Application Form
- Official Transcript verifying GPA.
- One Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach, or community leader.
- Personal Essay (250–500 words) on one of the following topics:
- “What Leadership Means to Me”
- “How I Plan to Lead Change in My Community”
- Proof of Community Involvement (e.g., verification of service hours, certificate of participation, or reference letter).
Recipients will be selected based on:
- Academic achievement
- Demonstrated leadership and character
- Commitment to community service
- Quality and originality of the personal essay
All applications will be reviewed by the Primus Enterprises Scholarship Committee, and the award will be presented at the Chesapeake, Virginia Beach Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Beautillion Banquet awards ceremony or via official announcement.

Evaluation Criteria

References (REF) - Two letters of recommendation required. Both from a community service leader. What did you do and how did it impact the organization? (30 points)
- Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) - Applicant must have an overall G.P.A. of 2.0. Proof of Transcript is required. (10 points)
- Memberships (MEM) - Determine how well the applicant has utilized his time in any clubs; social groups; school organizations, and religious affilations. Also, access the applicant's ability to meld academic activites into a social venue. Determine the applicants desire to expand their social consciousness by exploring the fruits of Biblical Study, Arts; and Humanities. (10 points)
- Volunteer/Community Activites (VCA) letter from Beautillion participant. Applicants who have overcome obstacles and continue to persevere. Write an essay 200-300 words, entitled: "Achievement in the Face of Adversity". The essay will be judged on content, originality, and ability to captivate the reader. Also, close attention will be given to grammar, syntax, and use of graphical publication implementations throughout the presentation. (50 points)

- Applicant must be a graduating senior with a cumulative grape point average of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale.

- The applicant must have a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer work in the community and be able to provide proof of volunteer work.
- The applicant must be pursuing a degree with the intentions of working in the healthcare system (Emergency Medical Services, Healthcare Administrator, Medical Social Worker, Nurse, Doctor, etc.)
- The applicant must submit a 500 word (minimum) essay, entitled "Healthcare Passions".
