WE SUPPORT PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE YOUNG MEN WITH THE FOLLOWING SERVICES
COLLEGE PLANNING
Provide support with college and university applications, college essay and
resume writing, scholarship applications, and financial aid through the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
FINANCES
Provide an overview of the fundamental principles of financial management,
including budgeting, establishing a donation campaign, and creating and
effectively managing a Charles Schwab investment portfolio.
HEALTH
Provide guidance on maintaining good health and dental hygiene, while
emphasizing the importance of having adequate health and dental insurance
coverage.
LEGAL
Provide basic knowledge of the legal system and government, including citizens’
rights and responsibilities, appropriate ways to interact with law enforcement
officials, and effective strategies for safely de-escalating potentially stressful or
confrontational situations.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Provide instruction on effective leadership traits and styles, including
communication, accountability, decision-making, adaptability, and emotional
intelligence, while emphasizing the importance of mentorship in personal and
professional development.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Provide opportunities to participate in local community service events, including
volunteer activities with Oasis Foodbank and the Foodbank of Southeastern
Virginia and Eastern Shore, while instilling the importance of giving back and
actively supporting their communities.
